Description

Painting on fabric mounted with silk brocade borders, a typical feature of thangkas used for meditation, teaching or ritual use. In the centre is Mahakala, meaning “the great black one”, a powerful protective deity often depicted with a terrifying appearance but who is actually benevolent.
