Avanguardia Antiquaria is a place of research on time: a Gallery and exhibition space in Milan for works of art, antiques, modern art and design of the twentieth century. The Gallery offers the possibility to decorate your home with retro charm and fill it with unique pieces, there are several ways to incorporate beautiful vintage pieces into any room, even integrating them with modern furniture. Avanguardia Antiquaria presents a wide range of vintage furniture of the twentieth century, especially mid-century, with the typical lines of the 40s, 50s and 60s, furniture, lamps and fashion accessories characterized by elegance and refinement. The selection of vintage furniture includes: tables, coffee tables, chairs, consoles, desks, sideboards, bookcases, paintings, frames, mirrors, carpets, lamps of various kinds, and furniture accessories. The continuous search for tasteful vintage furniture spans both time and geography, with a certain predilection for Italian and French twentieth century design. However, the gallery also offers a narrow range of vintage Scandinavian design products, elegant and sober furniture and accessories, characterized by the typical Scandinavian lines of the 50s and 60s. Vintage furniture is always sought after. Recovering objects from the past and bringing them back to new "life" is a contagious passion that has revolutionized the world of design. The term vintage comes from the French "vendenge", which generically indicates the vintages of the finest wines. Just like the best wines, some objects do not lose their charm with the passing of the years; on the contrary, they recover a new value if they are placed outside of their temporal dimension, combined with modern elements. Vintage furniture are so appreciated because they speak for themselves, they tell a story, they allow us to dream and travel with our mind in times we did not live.
Avanguardia Antiquaria is a place of research throughout time: a Gallery and exhibition space for art, antiques and design from the XX century, and a laboratory for the conservation and restoration of antiques cabinets, paintings, ceramics and gold-plating.
The dialogue between the narration of the past and present-day artistic research is the common theme that has given life to the oxymoron “Avanguardia Antiquaria”: the idea is to have objects born in different places and time live together in the same location.
